Angela Wolf from Soul Salvage Project
Soul Salvage Project’s founder and lead vocalist, Angela Wolf, came from a background of rock and heavy metal in the mid-1980s. For 18 years, she lived a double life fraught with drugs, alcohol, damaging sexual relationships, and other physically abusive habits. She falsely believed that the short, sweet prayer she had prayed as a very young child had somehow reserved a spot for her in heaven. In fact, her life reflected no saving relationship with Christ at all. Unfortunately, she consciously made a habit of rejecting the still, small voice of God, heeding only her own wicked, thrill-seeking desires and ambitions.
In 1994 at the age of 30, Angela took a huge triple blow. During this time of crisis, God finally broke through to her as she slept on a cold floor in an empty apartment in Atlanta, Georgia. Having lost her fiance’, her job, and hearing that her mother had been diagnosed with cancer, it became quite apparent that she could not survive another day under her own power. Angela finally admitted that she had lost all hope and needed Christ in her life. In truth, like many others, Angela had felt God tugging at her heart for years prior to hitting rock bottom. Fortunately, the Lord is long suffering and showed her his mercy despite her prodigal life. Today, she finds great comfort in these words: “But for that very reason, I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.” 1 Timothy 1:16.
More than a decade later, Angela is a new woman in Christ! She is married to a corporate pilot and home schools their two sons. God not only saved and restored her, but he also provided a way for her to use her former love of motorcycles and music in a positive way. She is currently a biker and member of the Christian Motorcylists’s Association, CMA, and a praise team member at Woodland Park Baptist Church in Hammond, Louisiana.
In the wake of her salvation in 1994, God used Angela to reach many folks for Christ through Bible studies, youth detention/prison ministries, and through her personal relationships in the states of Georgia, Virginia, Texas, and Florida. However, it was not until early 2008 as she began finalizing her plans to move to southern Louisiana that her most challenging calling to date was revealed. God impressed on her heart that He wanted her to return to her rock music roots, which she had long abandoned due to its negative influence in the past. In fact, God took the roosts of the music that had accompanied Angela in her “dead years” and used it to pierce the hearts of others trapped in sin. Isn’t it amazing how God can take something that was intended for harm and use it “for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives”? (Genesis 50:20)
